This is the page on my website that describes how I use, or don't use, AI or Artificial Intelligence (See slashpages.net for more info)
My Stance on AI
Hi, I’m Ate Bear. As both a developer and a blogger, I get asked often: "Do you use AI?"
The answer is yes. But I want to be clear about how, why, and the boundaries I set.
AI as My "Digital Calculator"
I view AI not as a replacement for my brain, but as a high-speed calculator.
- As a Developer: I use tools like ChatGPT and Google AI Studio to debug code and prototype web apps. It solves problems faster than I could manually, letting me focus on the architecture and logic.
- As a Blogger: I use AI (like Gemini) to help overcome writer’s block and draft content. As a novice, it helps me explore ideas I might not have thought of, but it doesn't write the story for me.
Just like a calculator doesn't know what math problem to solve, AI doesn't know what story to tell. I decide the goal; AI helps me reach it faster.
The Human Check: My Editorial Standard
I never publish AI-generated content without my personal touch. My process is strict:
- Drafting: I might generate a draft or a code snippet.
- Reviewing: I read every word and check every line of code. I look for errors, tone mismatches, or hallucinations.
- Editing: I accept suggestions that improve the work and reject those that don't. If an idea is good, I take it. If it's off, I discard it.
The final voice on this blog is mine. AI provides the raw material; I provide the craft.
Privacy & Data Safety
I take data privacy seriously, both for myself and my readers.
- No Sensitive Data: I never paste private information, passwords, or personal details into AI models.
- Synthetic Data: When testing or demonstrating concepts, I use made-up data.
- Vigilance: I am always careful. If I accidentally include something sensitive, I remove it immediately.
Why This Page Exists
Transparency matters. I believe my readers deserve to know that while I use modern tools to help me create, the opinions, experiences, and code you see here have passed through a human filter. I’m not here to be a robot; I’m here to share my journey as a human who happens to use robots to help.
